HAIKU BOOKS
Haiku is a style of Japanese poetry. The form I use is the classic style of 3 lines made up of 5-7-5 syllables respectively. Haiku poetry should be an expression of the things of this world on their own terms and it should lead the reader to a deeper appreciation of Nature.
Most of my work is inspired by the natural world: landscape, the sea, the sky, the vagaries of the weather, and the changes affecting plants and creatures through the seasons. I have found Haiku poetry to be a natural extension of my work giving me a greater expression of my perception of Nature.
Here is an example of Haiku verse, expressing how I relate to Haiku:
A fleeting moment
A passing recollection
A considered thought
My current books are in the slideshow below. They are fold books of mono prints in a limited series or digital images taken from my original artwork in editions. All the covers are hand printed, so each cover will be totally unique.
